What a rockin' tune at 8:26! It's like if the person who composed the Home Depot theme also made thriller soundtracks.
No critique on the video format--I know these are hard to source and appreciate the uploader, way to go.

While I appreciate people uploading/preserving movies, this one and so many others are not uploaded in their correct aspect ratios. There really is little point in watching movies like this in anything other than the original widescreen - you're literally missing 1/4 to 1/3 of the picture. (That said, if you can't afford to buy or rent a widescreen version, and IA is your only option, then it's worth watching or downloading here!)

This is tied with SUSPIRIA as Argento's best work. He throws in just about everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink, and it somehow all works together beautifully.
PS: I don't know why one review mentioned zombies. This is a giallo slasher film without any man-eating ghouls in sight!

The camera work and musical score reinforce the feeling of dread and horror in this film to keep you awake at night. I dare you to guess who the killer is. BTW, the original wide screen version of this movie has been removed from the Archive due to "problems with content." Whatever that means.

Subject: Dario Argento: THE Master!
Subject: Dario Argento: THE Master!
No one out does Signore Argento when it comes to suspense and terror! No one!! His stark images, often bordering on the gratuitous, his music-a synthesis of 70s pseudo classical\electronica and his twisting and convoluting plots are mixed with perfection, into a deadly potion that guarantees a "ride" that you surely will not forget in the near future!
Often the term "shocking" is bantered around to describe motion pictures and their experience, but if it is used to describe a work by Dario Argento, you can be assured that this is the real thing!
These movies are a little too much for the timid viewer. However, if the genre appeals to you, you won't be disappointed!
Another one of his masterpieces, that really blew me away, is "Tenebre" (Unsane). About two minutes before the end, just when you thought everything had been figured out, and the credits were about to roll, everything turns inside out!If you enjoyed "Deep Red", don't miss my favorite Argento movie, "Tenebre"!!

Great film. perfect mix of funk and blood. groove til you drop. Also excellent ligthing making film atmospheric and containing real moments of fright. Decent story and fun camera work make this Argento film a unique and interesting viewing experience.
